What better way to say I Love You than an experiment through love…
You Will Need:
- Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution
- Water
- Jars
- Pencil
- String
- Sellotape
- Pipe Cleaners
Step 1
Mould your pipe cleaners into hearts.
Step 2
Use a pencil to tie the string around.
Step 3
To make the Borax solution, Add one tablespoon of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution at a time to the boiling water, making sure to stir to dissolve after each additional tablespoon. In total you should have added 3 tablespoons of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution to the water. **Please note – if some of the borax is undissolved this is not a problem**
STEP 4
Hang the pipe cleaner heart into the jar so that the pencil rests on top of the jar. The heart should be completely covered with liquid and hang freely. **Please note the heart should not touch the bottom of the jar**
Step 5
Allow the heart to set overnight.
Step 6
After being left overnight, remove the heart from the liquid. Your heart is now ready!
