Enjoy Easter with a Fizzy Rainbow Easter Egg Experiment!
SAFETY:
- Protective clothing such as gloves and googles should be worn at all times when handling chemicals.
- Before you start, it’s a good idea to carry out a patch test.
- Always store chemicals out of reach of pets and children.
The “Shopping List”
- Plastic eggs
- Egg tray
- Eyedropper
- Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
- Acetic Acid 3%
- Food colouring
STEP 1
Start by placing the egg tray on to a large tray to limit the mess.
STEP 2
Please note: you will only need half of the plastic egg, place the bottom half of the egg into the egg trays.
STEP 3
For a fun colourful eruption, add several drops of food colouring to each of the plastic eggs. Please note: this step is only optional but will give the experiment a WOW factor!
STEP 4
Fill each egg with a teaspoon of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate.
STEP 5
Using the Acetic Acid 3% and the eyedropper, add this to the plastic eggs and watch the fun begin!
