Immerse yourself in a fun and messy experiment with the Hatching Dinosaur Eggs Experiment!
You Will Need:
- 600ml Low Form Beaker x 3
- Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
- Distilled Water
- Acetic Acid 3%
- Food Colouring
- Syringes
- Baking Tray
- Washing Up Liquid
- Small Dinosaur Toys
- Gloves

Step 1
Make sure to wear gloves.
In three different beakers add equal amounts of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate and add different food colouring to each one.
Step 2
Add Distilled Water by pouring small amounts until the mixture starts to feel similar to a paste.
Step 3
Mix all 3 of the different mixtures together to get a bright, vibrant range of colours.
Step 4
Take a palmful of the paste and begin to squish it to make a ball. Place the dinosaur in the mixture and continue to add more paste until you cannot see the dinosaur.
Step 5
Continue to make the rest of the eggs.
Place the dinosaur eggs in the freezer to set.
Step 7
When you are ready for the dinosaurs to hatch, place the dinosaur hatching eggs on a baking tray.
Step 8
Dribble some washing up liquid in the baking tray.
Step 9
Pour some Acetic Acid 3% into the syringe and squirt the dinosaur egg to start the hatching process.
Step 10
Continue to do this until all the dinosaurs have hatched!
