Here are the materials you’ll need:

Step 1: The first step is preparing your eggshells and make sure to rinse them out with warm distilled water.

Step 2: The ratio of the Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% to water is 1 tablespoon to 3 cups of boiling water. While you wait for your water to boil, measure the correct ratio. Add the powder to the water.

Stir the mixture until the Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate is fully dissolved. This solution will serve as the base for growing crystals on your eggshells. Add a fair amount of food colouring too.

Step 3: Submerge your eggshells into the solution. Because the solution is incredibly saturated with the powder, the liquid can’t hold all the Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate , boiling the water allows more of the Magnesium Sulphate to dissolve in the water because the molecules in the water move farther apart.

Step 4As the solution begins to cool down, you’ll see more particles in the water as the molecules move closer together. The particles will begin to appear on the eggshells eventually forming crystals.

Step 5: Within 24-48 Hours you will see some incredibly colourful pastel-coloured crystals, perfect for the Easter holidays and as decorations!
