Eosin B is a readily water-soluble, red dye with a green fluorescence ( Lambdamax. 514 nm), which is commonly used in histology and microbiology. The dye binds in the acidic pH range (pH 2.5 – 3.5) to proteins. This complex absorbs light at 536 – 544 nm.
