DIY Chalk

Chalk is a versatile substance with various applications, but not all chalk is made from the same ingredients. This guide will show you how to create your own DIY chalk.Stack of white chalk on a black background

Here are the materials you'll need:

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine 1-2 cups of Calcium Carbonate with 4 tablespoons of hot water. Stir the mixture thoroughly until it forms a smooth paste.

Step 2: Once the paste is smooth, add 1 quart of satin paint to the mixture. Mix well to ensure the paint is evenly incorporated.

Step 3: Choose your preferred moulds and pour the mixture into them. Ensure the moulds are filled evenly. Allow the chalk to dry and harden completely. This may take a few days, depending on the size and thickness of the chalk pieces.

If you desire a smoother surface for your chalk, you can use grit sandpaper to gently sand the dried chalk. This will create a more polished finish.
