Gleaming Patio & Bricks

Hydrochloric Acid is a chemical commonly used for cleaning challenging surfaces such as brick and concrete. However, it is crucial to use extreme caution while handling this highly corrosive substance to prevent skin damage or harm to household objects.

Important Note: Prior to using any of the products mentioned, it is highly recommended to thoroughly read and understand all safety precautions associated with each product. It is also strongly advised to perform a patch test before proceeding with usage.

To ensure safe handling of Hydrochloric Acid, it is essential to wear the following protective gear:

  1. Long-sleeved shirt and trousers that cover your arms and legs
  2. Closed shoes
  3. Rubber gloves
  4. Goggles to shield your eyes from drops or splashes

Here are the materials you'll need:

Step 1: Dilute the Hydrochloric Acid according to required strength. When mixing, add the acid to the water, not water to acid. Use extreme caution when mixing, so that the solution does not splash on you. Never mix other chemicals with this acid mixture.

Step 2: Dampen the surface you want to clean with Hydrochloric Acid and then, taking care not to splash, pour the contents of the bucket on to the surface. Leave it on the surface for 10 minutes.

Step 2: After 10 minutes, gently scrub the surface with a stiff brush to remove dirt and grime embedded in the brick or concrete. Once the cleaning is complete, rinse the area thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 2 minutes.
