Here are the materials you'll need:

  • Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
  • Acetic Acid 6%
  • Saline Solution
  • Glue
  • Food Colouring (We recommend green or orange to add a Halloween twist)
  • Small Cauldron or container
  • Small Cup
  • Baking Tray
  • Fake Creepy Crawlies (you can purchase these from your local craft store)

Step 1: Place the small cauldron or container on the baking tray to keep the mess contained. Begin by mixing 1/2 cup of glue and 2 tablespoons of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate in the cauldron or container. As you stir, you'll notice the mixture thickening.

Step 2: Once the glue starts to thicken, add the fake creepy crawlies to give your slime a spooky touch.

Step 3: Add a few drops of your chosen food colouring to the mixture, giving your slime the desired colour.

Step 4: In another container, mix 1/4 cup of Acetic Acid 6% with 1 tablespoon of saline solution.

Step 5: Pour the Acetic Acid 6% solution/saline solution into the glue mixture and start stirring. As you do this, you'll observe the mixture bubbling and eventually erupting. This is why it's important to have the tray underneath to catch any overflow.

Continue stirring until the eruption subsides. You'll notice that it becomes harder and harder to stir, this means that the slime has fully formed.

Step 6: Once the slime is fully mixed, reach in and pull it out of the mixture.

The slime should not feel sticky on your hands. However, if it does, you can add a few drops of saline solution and continue kneading. Be cautious not to add too much, as it may result in rubbery slime.
