How to Handle Chemicals Safely

Important Note: Before using any chemical, it is highly recommended to thoroughly read and understand all safety precautions associated with each product.

Read Labels and Instructions

Always read and follow the instructions on the product labels before using any chemical. This also includes household cleaning chemicals.

Store Chemicals Securely

Keep chemicals in their original containers with tightly sealed lids and store them in a well-ventilated, dry area away from food, children and pets.

Make sure to also store these chemicals in a secure, locked cabinet or storage area.

Use Personal Protective Equipment

Wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, face visors, and a mask when handling chemicals that may cause skin irritation or release fumes.

Ventilation

Use chemicals in a well-ventilated area to minimise exposure to fumes.

Spillage and Technical Specifications

Always refer to the MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) when dealing with spillage. The MSDS can be found under the ‘downloads’ section on each product.

Chemical Disposal

Make sure to read local guidelines on how to safely dispose of specific chemicals. Do not pour these chemicals down the drain or mix them with other household waste.
