Mighty High Balloon

Try this exciting experiment to create an impressively inflated balloon!

Here are the materials you'll need:

• HDPE Plastic Bottle
• Balloons
• Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
• Acetic Acid 6%
• Funnel

Step 1: Using the funnel, add the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate to each balloon. It may be best to use two people for this experiment: one person to hold the balloon open and the other person to put the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate inside the balloon.

Step 2: Pour 3 tablespoons of Acetic Acid 6% into the bottle.

Step 3: Gently stretch the opening of the balloon over the bottle's neck. Take care not to let the powder mix with the liquid just yet.

Step 4: Once the balloon is securely attached to the bottle, carefully tilt it to allow the powder to enter the liquid.

Step 5: Observe the incredible balloon inflation! Repeat the process to create as many balloons as desired.
