Here are the materials you'll need:
Step 1: Take caution and carefully cut a small hole near one edge of the bottle's bottom. Next, cut a piece of straw and insert it through the hole. Seal the hole around the straw using hot glue or tape. Ensure that the only escape route for the gas inside the bottle is through the straw, without any other leaks. This step is crucial because if there's no way for the gas to escape, pressure can build up. Safety first!
Step 2: Hold the bottle close to level and pour some Acetic Acid 6% into it. Rotate the bottle so that the straw is positioned at the top, preventing the Acetic Acid 6% from leaking out.
Step 3: While keeping the bottle level, spoon in some Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate. Make sure to hold the bottle steady to prevent the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate from falling into the Acetic Acid 6%.
Step 4: Screw the bottle cap back on tightly. Tip the bottle to mix the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate and Acetic Acid 6% together. Immediately place the bottle into a tub of water, ensuring that the straw is submerged. Get ready to watch your fantastic bottle boat race!
