Over time, exterior bricks can accumulate moss and dirt, causing them to lose their shine. As the first thing people see, it's important to keep the exterior of your home looking its best. Spruce up your bricks using Hydrochloric Acid 10%.
Hydrochloric Acid, also known as strong water or muriatic acid, is commonly used for cleaning hard surfaces that are tough to clean, such as brick and concrete. However, it is a highly corrosive chemical that requires extreme care to prevent damage to your skin.
Important Note: Prior to using any of the products mentioned, it is highly recommended to thoroughly read and understand all safety precautions associated with each product. It is also strongly advised to perform a patch test before proceeding with usage.

Here are the materials you'll need:
Step 1: For lighter colour bricks, mix one-part Hydrochloric Acid with ten parts water in a bucket. For darker colour bricks, mix one-part Hydrochloric Acid with twenty parts water in a bucket. Do not mix with any other product to avoid dangerous chemical reactions.
Step 2: Dampen the surface of the bricks you want to clean using a long-handled scrub brush. Dip the brush into the Hydrochloric Acid mixture and apply it to the wall. Ensure the scrub brush has a long handle to reach all areas of the bricks and avoid contact with the acid. Make sure to wear appropriate protective gear, taking care to avoid splashing.
Step 3: Repeat the process, focusing on rubbing the brush into the gaps between the bricks to ensure thorough coverage. Allow the mixture to sit on the surface for 10 minutes.
Step 4: After 10 minutes, use a stiff, dry brush to remove any dirt stuck in the brick or concrete surface.
Step 5: Once you are satisfied with the removal of dirt, use a jet wash to clear away the Hydrochloric Acid. Rinse for at least 2 minutes or until you are confident that the acid is no longer present on the bricks. Alternatively, if you are not using a jet wash, take a new long-handled scrub brush, a bucket full of water, and dip the brush into the water. Use the brush to scrub away the remaining acid.
