Deodorise Your Home

To get rid of pet odours in your home and achieve an overall fresh smell, sprinkle Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate) on carpets and furniture. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then vacuum it up.

It is important to test a small area first to ensure that the baking soda does not discolour your carpet or upholstery.

Deodorise Pet Bedding

Place your pet's bedding in the washing machine and use a mild (no dyes or fragrances) laundry detergent along with 1 cup of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate). Put the bed in the dryer for 15 minutes with a pet-safe dryer sheet. If it is still wet, let it air dry to avoid shrinking. Using a dryer sheet is important because it helps to remove excess hair from the bedding.

If your pet spends time rolling around in your bed, add 1/2 cup Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate) into the washing machine when you wash your sheets to neutralise odours.

Deodorise Your Car

Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate) will also eliminate doggy odours in your car. Sprinkle it on the seats and floor mats. The longer the powder sits, the more odour it will absorb. Vacuum all surfaces.

If your current kitty litter does not contain Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate), sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda on the bottom of the box before adding the litter.
