Wick System: Known for its simplicity, the Wick system is a passive hydroponic system that requires no moving parts. It can utilise various mediums such as perlite, soil, or coco.

Water Culture: This active hydroponic system involves immersing the plant roots completely in water. An air pump helps oxygenate the water, allowing the roots to breathe. It's important to note that only a few plants thrive in this system, with lettuce being a recommended choice.

Ebb and Flow System (Flood and Drain): This hydroponic system works by periodically flooding the grow tray with nutrient solution from a reservoir. The solution surrounds the roots before draining back. Typically, this process is automated using a timer controlled water pump.

Drip System (Recovery or Non-Recovery): Drip systems are widely used in hydroponics. A water pump, controlled by a timer, delivers water and nutrient solutions (such as Growth Technology) through a network of elevated water jets. If using a recovery system, it's essential to regularly monitor the pH level of the reservoir.
