Valentine's Crystal Hearts

Using the simple art of pipe cleaners, create beautiful heart shapes that will shimmer and sparkle.

Here are the materials you'll need:

• Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution
• Water
• Jars
• Pencil
• String
• Sellotape
• Pipe Cleaners

Step 1: Mould your pipe cleaners into hearts.

Step 2: Securely tie a string around each heart shape using a pencil.

Step 3: Prepare the Borax solution by adding one tablespoon of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution at a time to boiling water. Stir thoroughly after each addition. In total, add 3 tablespoons of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) 5% Solution to the water. Don't worry if some Borax remains undissolved.

Step 4: Gently suspend the pipe cleaner heart into a jar, ensuring the pencil rests on top of the jar's opening. The heart should be fully immersed in the liquid, hanging freely without touching the jar's bottom.

Step 5: Allow the heart to set overnight.

Step 6: The following day, carefully remove the heart from the liquid. Your heart is now ready to be presented as a heartfelt expression of love!
