What is Nitric Acid 5%? Nitric Acid 5% is a dilute solution of nitric acid (HNO₃) primarily used for the decalcification of biological specimens. It offers a milder alternative for removing calcium deposits from tissues, ensuring optimal preparation for histological and microscopic analysis while preserving delicate structures.
Nitric Acid solutions give the quickest decalcification results, but the large bubbles that form during decalcification can severely disrupt cells.
This solution can be used when you need to make sections quickly.
Specimens up to 0.5 mm thickness can be decalcified in 0.5-2 hours, while very thick specimens may require up to 6 hours or more at room temperature for complete decalcification.
High-Quality Formulation: We use only carefully sourced Nitric Acid and blend it with Distilled Water, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for a wide range of applications.
Manufactured in the UK: Manufactured and bottled using non-toxic, chemical-resistant bottles, providing reliable and trusted quality to our customers.
