HI-6221 Advanced pH/ORP Benchtop Meter

The HI-6221 pH and ORP Meter from Hanna Instruments is a modern, efficient solution for benchtop measurements within laboratories. This sleek, practical laboratory-grade meter includes multiple time-saving features, including on-screen tutorials, practical data transfer over WiFi and ethernet and a user-friendly interface for ease of use.

This research-grade pH and ORP meter is supplied with the Hanna HI-1131B double junction combination pH electrode, a glass-bodied refillable pH electrode that is made from high-temperature glass to provide accurate, reliable pH measurement across a wide range of samples, including metals and samples that have elevated temperatures.

The HI-7662-TW temperature probe is also supplied with the HI-6221 ORP and pH meter, allowing for the automatic compensation of pH measurements for exceptional accuracy and repeatability.

Key Features

Modern, practical design

The HI-6000 series meters are designed to fit into modern laboratories. A simple, streamlined casing and a large capacitive touch screen that works even with gloves on make this advanced pH meter easy and practical to use. The small footprint of the meter series and the ability to switch the placement of the electrode arm provides the flexibility to place the HI-6221 anywhere in the lab.

Five-point calibration with automatic recognition

5-point calibration is available as standard with this laboratory pH meter, with the choice of standard or custom buffer for calibration and automatic recognition of standard buffers for efficient, practical calibration. An in-built non-volatile memory saves both data and settings.

Supplied with Hanna laboratory-grade probes and electrodes

The HI-6221 pH and ORP bench meter is supplied with both a pH electrode and temperature probe. The versatile HI-1131B double junction combination pH electrode provides accurate pH measurement across a wide range of applications and niches, while the HI-7662-TW stainless steel temperature probe enables automatic temperature compensation when measuring pH.

Electrode holder included

An electrode holder is supplied with the HI-6221, with the ability to mount directly to either side of the advanced meter. This purpose-built flexible arm provides secure support for both the electrode and temperature probe when measuring samples within containers.

Exceptional accuracy, excellent reliability

The HI-6221 pH meter is developed and designed specifically for laboratory use, providing exceptional accuracy with Hanna electrodes across a comprehensive pH and ORP range. Galvanic isolation allows for accurate measurement across a versatile range of samples and applications without potential interference.

Flexibility in location and configuration

WiFi and ethernet connectivity means the HI-6221 can be placed anywhere in the laboratory, with no requirement for a direct connection to a PC or printer. The moveable electrode arm included with this benchtop pH/ORP meter provides further flexibility, making it easy to adapt this meter to the changing requirements within the laboratory.

User-friendly interface

User-friendly menus and easy-to-follow settings enable users to set up the HI-6221 out of the box in minutes. A full-featured settings menu includes everything needed to customise this meter to your requirements, including:

  • Network
  • Connect and Print
  • System
  • Custom Users
  • User Account Management
  • Info Screen
  • Log Recall
  • Log History and Sharing
  • Log Detail
  • On-Board Help

Five individual measurement views

The HI-6221 features five individual measurement views for pH and ORP measurement, including:

  • Basic View: A simplified view displaying the measured value, measurement unit and temperature source.
  • Simple GLP View: Additional displays of the last calibration date and time, Offset value, average slope and electrode condition.
  • Full GLP View: Comprehensive display with electrode symbol and used buffers tray in addition to all of the above.
  • Graph View: A simple plotted graph of the measured value
  • Tabulated View: Table-style data with measured values plus date, time and any notes made during logging.

Large data storage capacity

Up to one million individual data points can be stored within the HI-6221 pH tester for laboratories, with a time and date stamp included with each data point. All data is well-organised and accessible via WiFi, ethernet or connection to a computer or printer.

Audible and visual alarm system

A built-in alarm system includes options for both audible and visual alarms, with customisable correct ranges for measurements. When a measurement exceeds these defined limits the alarm will activate, allowing you to save time in identifying issues.

WiFi and ethernet connectivity

Share data anywhere with WiFi and ethernet connectivity, allowing data from the HI-6221 lab benchtop meter to be shared via FTP or email transfer. With in-built connectivity, it’s possible to share measurements immediately to offices, other areas of the laboratory or other sister sites without the need to connect a laptop or PC.

Simple USB C and USB A transfer

Both USB C and USB A connections are available on the HI-6221 to transfer data and connect peripherals. Transfer data using a memory stick in universal .csv format, with no additional software required to access the entirety of your logged data on any computer once it has been transferred.

On-screen tutorial system

The HI-6000 series features a comprehensive tutorial system covering the main functionalities of the benchtop meters with the HELP button. Both text and video tutorials are available, providing clear instructions to reduce the learning curve required when using the HI-6221 and other instruments within the range.

Comprehensive user functionality

Create custom users with standard or administrator accessibility, with customisable configurations to set your own accessibility requirements. Administrators can create and manage accounts directly from the Account Management Screen for easy and effective management.
